. In a bid to stop the State House of Assembly from summoning
the helmsman at the Nassarawa State Independent Electoral
Commission for questioning, the Commissioner for Justice and
Attorney General of the state, Mr. Innocent Lagi, scaled the
fence of the Assembly complex after been denied access into
the complex by security men stationed at the complex.
Mr Lagi had wanted to pass to the house leadership a court
injunction restraining them from summoning the states
electoral chairman for questioning on electoral matters in the
state. Before he got to the House premises, the electoral
chairman and his commissioners had already answered to the
summon by the House.
After jumping the fence, the commissioner was detained for
about 40 minutes at the Assembly's security post before he
was taken away in an armored personnel carrier .
